General description of the collection: The Aerial Photography School, 1918 photograph collection consists of five photo albums dealing with the activities of the United States Army (USA) School of Aerial Photography at Ithaca and Rochester, New York, 1918. Contents of the five albums are: Album 1 - Views on the ground of the USA School of Aerial Photography at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and a field exercise to Camp Wheeler, Enfield Falls, New York; Album 2 - Aerial views of Washington, D.C., in July 1918, taken officially by the Photographic Branch, Division of Military Aeronautics from a Curtis J-N-4-H (JN4H) airplane; Album 3 - The practice of aerial photography showing the various phases of class work indoors and outdoors, on the ground, and in the air; Album 4 - Official school album of the USA School of Aerial Photography, Ithaca, New York, 1918, showing all of the various activities of the school; and Album 5 - Official school album of the USA School of Aerial Photography, Rochester, New York, 1918, showing all of the various activities of the school.
